Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship for Minority Girls

Maulana Azad Education Foundation scholarship for meritorious minority girls (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi) studying in Class 9–12 — extends consideration to college after.

The Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship is administered by the Maulana Azad Education Foundation (MAEF) under the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India. It is awarded to meritorious girl students from minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi) studying in Classes 9 to 12.

The scholarship pays Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 6,000 per year depending on the class, primarily intended to support girls completing schooling in time to qualify for engineering and other professional courses. Although the scheme itself does not extend to college, students who receive it through Class 12 are typically well-positioned to apply for AICTE Pragati, Post-Matric Minority, and other UG-level scholarships when they enter engineering. Family income ceiling is Rs. 2 lakh per annum.

Apply through the MAEF portal during the annual window (typically September to December). Required documents include minority community certificate, school enrolment proof, income certificate, bank account, and Aadhaar.
