About St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur
St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur is an arts, science and commerce college in Puttur, Karnataka, established in 1958. St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur is government-aided. It is affiliated to Mangalore University. Its programmes are approved by AICTE and the UGC. St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur offers 14 programmes, 9 at undergraduate level and 5 at postgraduate level. These include Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), among others. The official site identifies the institution as St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, under Mangalore University, and its current admissions banner is for 2026-27. The homepage contains inconsistent programme counts: one section says 5 UG and 5 PG programmes, while the current overview says 9 UG and 5 PG programmes. The MCA page lists seven faculty members, six of whom are shown as holding or pursuing a PhD, but this is not an institution-wide total. The current homepage announces admissions for 2026-27 generally. The BBA and MCA programme pages do not state an academic cycle or intake; the separate AICTE EoA for 2026-27 states BBA 120, BCA 240 and MCA 60. The prospectus describes more than 25 acres, so no exact area is recorded. The college is managed by the Catholic Board of Education, but no formal minority designation is stated on the cited official pages.
