Overview
About S.A. Engineering College (Autonomous)
S.A. Engineering College (Autonomous) is an engineering college in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, established in 1998. S.A. Engineering College (Autonomous) is autonomous. It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. S.A. Engineering College (Autonomous) offers 10 programmes at undergraduate level. These include B.E. Civil Engineering, B.E. Mechanical Engineering, B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering, B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering and B.E. Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design and Technology), among others. The stated sanctioned intake across these programmes totals 1050 seats. S.A. Engineering College (Autonomous) is the Chennai/Thiruverkadu engineering unit listed by Anna University (Examination code 1119; TNEA counselling code 1114). The 2025 prospectus identifies Dr. S. Ramachandran as principal and describes the college's engineering laboratories, AICTE IDEA Lab, industry-partnered labs and hostels, but does not provide a single total laboratory count. The cited 2025-26 Anna University affiliation PDF supports affiliation reference 1119 but does not label a university college code. The current official Anna University affiliated-college list separately identifies 1119 as the Examination code and 1114 as the TNEA Counselling Code; therefore 1119 is recorded as the university college code and 1114 as the CET code. The college website states that it was established in academic year 1998–1999 by Dharma Naidu Educational & Charitable Trust, is autonomous, affiliated to Anna University and AICTE-approved. The college's AICTE page visibly provides approval letters through 2025-26, but no 2026-27 EoA was located in the reviewed official material. The Anna University affiliated-college pages reviewed carry a 2022 copyright date; the 2025-26 college affiliation PDF is the latest college-hosted affiliation evidence reviewed.
