- Qualifying: B.E. admissions: pass in 10+2 (PUC/CBSE/ICSE/equivalent) with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects + Chemistry/Biology/Biotech/Electronics/Computer Science as optional; RVITM's MQ rule requires Class 12 PCM minimum 60% (each) and qualifying rank in KEA-CET / COMEDK / JEE Main.

- Application fee: ₹RVITM does not publish a separate application processing fee; the management-quota route operates by email enquiry followed by tuition payment after the management office issues a confirmation. KEA/COMEDK candidates pay the respective exam-body application fees, not a separate RVITM fee.

Is RVITM the same as RV College of Engineering (RVCE)?
No. RVITM (established 2019) and RVCE (1963) are two separate institutions, both run by the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST) under the RV Educational Institutions umbrella. RVCE is autonomous and ranked in NIRF Engineering (101-150 band in 2025), while RVITM is a newer VTU-affiliated, AICTE-approved college not yet in NIRF or NAAC. However, RVITM students benefit directly because placements are coordinated jointly with RVCE's placement cell.
What are the admission routes and cut-offs at RVITM for B.E.?
Admission is via three channels — KCET (Karnataka Government quota, ~45% seats), COMEDK UGET (~30%) and Management Quota (~25%, including NRI/Foreign). Indicative 2025-26 General-Merit cut-offs were CSE 6,351-11,677 (KCET) and 4,889-21,189 (COMEDK); CSE (AI & ML) 7,875-13,767 and 9,168-24,673; ECE 6,551-14,565 and 9,293-22,166. Lateral entry to 2nd year is via Karnataka DCET. KCET 2026 was held 22-24 April 2026; COMEDK UGET 2026 is on 9 May 2026.
What is the eligibility for B.E. admission at RVITM?
Candidates must have passed 10+2 / PUC-II with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Minimum aggregate is 45% for General category and 40% for SC/ST/Karnataka Category-I. A valid KCET or COMEDK rank is mandatory for the respective quota. Management-quota applicants are also expected to have at least 60% PCM subject aggregate (and 70%+ in 10th Science/Math per institutional listings). For lateral entry, the Karnataka DCET score is used.
What is the fee structure at RVITM for 2025-26 / 2026-27?
KCET / Government quota tuition is approximately ₹1.07 L per annum (~₹1.32 L total with VTU and college fees). COMEDK quota is approximately ₹2.60-2.81 L per annum. Management quota for 2026-27 (official circular): CSE ₹7.50 L/yr (₹30 L over 4 years), CSE (AI & ML) ₹6.50 L/yr (₹26 L), ECE ₹5 L/yr (₹20 L), plus a miscellaneous college fee of ~₹65,000/yr. MCA (Management Quota) is ₹2 L/yr. Hostel is ~₹1,78,000/yr (accommodation, mess and transport) with a ₹10,000 refundable caution deposit.
Are scholarships available at RVITM?
Yes. Students can apply to multiple schemes: Karnataka State Scholarship Portal (SSP) for SC/ST/OBC/Minority/EWS candidates (forms typically due by October); AICTE's PRAGATI (girls), SAKSHAM (differently-abled) and SWANATH (orphan) scholarships referenced in the AICTE EOA; merit-based awards through the RSST/RVEI trust (which has run scholarship programmes for 75+ years); need-based support for EWS candidates; and sports/cultural merit recognition. Details should be confirmed with the College AndFees counsellor before joining.
What are the recent placement numbers at RVITM?
The audited 2020-24 batch recorded 83.4% placements — 181 of 217 eligible candidates placed — with an average package of ₹11.47 LPA, median ₹11 LPA and highest ₹29 LPA. The ongoing 2021-25 batch had logged 172+ offers by August 2025 with the highest rising to ₹33 LPA (Tushar Arora, CSE, at Procore). The 2022-26 batch was tracking 139 offers as of 27 February 2026. Branch-wise 2020-24: CSE 85% (median ₹11 LPA), ISE 90%, ECE 63%, Mechanical 100%.
Which companies recruit from RVITM?
Because RVITM drives are run jointly with the RV College of Engineering placement cell, recruiters span tier-1 IT, product, analytics, finance and core engineering. Recurring names include Procore, Amazon, JP Morgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, Oracle, HPE, Qualcomm, Onsemi, Avalara, British Telecom, Philips, Licious, Rapido, Nike, Baker Hughes, Confluent, Whatfix, Commonwealth Bank, Societe Generale, ABB, Siemens, Honeywell, Swiggy, KPMG, Tejas Networks, L&T, Volvo and UD Trucks. Sector split leans heavily IT/software (~75-80%) with core engineering and consulting making up the rest.
Is RVITM accredited by NAAC, NBA or NIRF?
As of April 2026, RVITM does not hold an NAAC grade, does not have NBA accreditation for any of its programmes, and is not ranked in NIRF 2024 or 2025 (Engineering or Overall). This reflects the fact that RVITM was established only in 2019 and its first UG batch graduated in 2023, so it is still within the vintage/graduating-batch window that most national accreditation and ranking cycles require. Aggregator listings that show NAAC "A+" or NIRF rankings typically conflate RVITM with the older sister institution RVCE.
