**By Sakshi Sonal** The MSRIT campus occupies roughly 25 acres within the wider 85-acre Gokula Education Foundation education complex at MSR Nagar, Mathikere — about 5 km from IISc and 8 km from the M.G. Road business district. The Apex Block houses the Chief Proctor''s Office (first level), administrative wings and statutory committee secretariats. ## Academic infrastructure - **17+ academic departments** including CSE, ECE, ME, EEE, Civil, IEM, ISE, Architecture, EIE, ETE, Medical Electronics, Chemical, Biotechnology, AI&DS, AI&ML, CSE (Cyber Security), CSE (AI&ML), Aerospace, MBA, MCA, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Maths & Humanities. - **10 Centres of Excellence** with industry-named labs (full list in the research_deep section). - **Research-Centre-status departments** under VTU: most major UG departments host VTU-recognised research centres for M.Sc(Engg) by Research + PhD. ## Library The Central Library is governed by a 21-member Library Committee chaired by Registrar-Academic Dr. Archna with Convener Dr. K.R. Mulla (Chief Librarian). The committee includes 11 student representatives across departments. ## Computing & networking - NVIDIA DGX Station with 4× Titan-X Pascal GPUs (CCPS lab) - 30× iMac systems in the Apple AATCE lab with macOS Big Sur + Xcode 13 - 65 Dell Optiplex desktops in the Simulation Lab (Samsung Prism partnership) - LAN access from anywhere on campus to the DGX Station; remote access via AnyDesk / VPN - Contineo e-Sutra Student Information System (SIS) for attendance, CIE marks, proctor notes, timetable, exam history and fees ## Sports & physical wellbeing The Department of Sports (Director Dr. H.K. Kiran Kumar) runs Men''s and Women''s teams in 26+ disciplines including Cricket, Basketball, Athletics, Hockey, Volleyball, Tennis, Squash, Boxing, Powerlifting, Mallkhamba and Yoga. Named coaches: Sachin S Belvadi (Basketball), Rahul Menon (Cricket), Balaji B A (Volleyball), A E Brient (Hockey), Arvind Williams (Football). ## Student-life infrastructure - **NSS Unit** since 1999-2000, ~300 volunteers; Coordinator Dr. Siddaraju C (Mech). State Award for Best NSS Unit and Best NSS Programme Officer 2007-08 (awarded 2010). - **9 Professional Society Student Chapters**: IEEE Student Branch + IEEE WIE + IEEE EMBS + IEEE PES, ICI, IIChE, IIF, Fluid Power Society of India, CSI. - **Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) / CATCE** under Coordinator Dr. Prabha Ravi (Medical Electronics). - **Proctorial System** since late 1990s (full scale from 2002) — each proctor allotted 20-25 students; progress reports go to parents at 45-day and 90-day marks. ## Hostel & dining On-campus boys'' and girls'' hostels with veg + non-veg mess (mess fee included in the ₹95K-1.30L/yr range).
