Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) is one of the largest and oldest state technical universities in India, originally established in 1972 by an Act of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature as Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) by amalgamating the Government Engineering Colleges at Anantapur (1946), Hyderabad (1965) and Kakinada (1946) into a single multi-campus state technical university — the first such university of its kind anywhere in India.
