Overview

About Jeppiaar Engineering College

Jeppiaar Engineering College is an engineering college in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, established in 2001. Jeppiaar Engineering College is privately managed and self-financing. It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. Jeppiaar Engineering College offers 14 programmes, 9 at undergraduate level and 4 at postgraduate level. These include B.Tech. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, B.Tech. Biotechnology, B.E. Computer Science and Engineering, B.E. Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) and B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering, among others. Current official pages identify the institution as Jeppiaar Engineering College (Autonomous), Chennai; autonomous status is stated as received in 2026. The college is AICTE-approved and affiliated with Anna University. The mandatory disclosure reports 38 faculty in Science, Humanities and General Engineering, not a whole-college faculty total. Academic admissions information opened was explicitly for 2025-26. The rules PDF states 75% attendance to write Anna University examinations, while the college insists on at least 85% theory attendance and 100% laboratory attendance; 85% is recorded as the college minimum. Parent hospital and clinical tie-ups are not applicable to this engineering college. The prior unsupported claim that Computer Science and Engineering is NBA-accredited is removed. The cited NBA page supports Biotechnology only through 30 June 2021 and Electronics and Communication Engineering from 1 January 2026 through 31 December 2028 only where the page names the relevant institution/programme; it does not support adding Jeppiaar CSE. The reviewed NIRF Engineering 2025 page does not list Jeppiaar Engineering College, so no NIRF rank or participation status is recorded. The address uses the college disclosure's Kanchipuram/Chennai wording; current city label is Chennai.
