About Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College

Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College is an engineering college in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, established in 1983. Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College is privately managed and self-financing. It is affiliated to MGM University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College offers 9 programmes at undergraduate level. These include B.Tech. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, B.Tech. Chemical Engineering, B.Tech. Civil Engineering, B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering and B.Tech. Electronics and Computer Engineering, among others. The stated sanctioned intake across these programmes totals 690 seats. JNEC is a conducted/constituent college of self-financed private MGM University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, rather than a Maharashtra CAP-round college for 2026-27; applications are made directly through MGM University. The 2026-27 official booklet lists B.Tech intakes including CSE 240, AI & Data Science 90, Civil 90, Robotics & AI 60, Electronics & Computer 60, Electrical & Computer 60, Chemical 30, Mechanical 30, and Mechanical & Mechatronics (Additive Manufacturing) 30. The college website reports 12 research-grade IIRC laboratories and 32 project publications; no separately dated faculty totals, attendance rule, medium, exam pattern, patent count, or funded-project figure was published in the reviewed official material. For 2026-27, JNEC is presented by its official admissions page as a constituent/conducted college of MGM University, a self-financed state private university established under the MGM University Act 2019; degrees are offered by MGM University. The official admissions page states that JNEC will not appear in Maharashtra CET CAP option forms for 2026-27 and that admissions are conducted directly by MGM University. The 2026-27 official booklet lists B.Tech programmes and college-reported approved intakes, but no AICTE EoA reference was located; university degree-awarding status is therefore recorded instead of treating an absent EoA as adverse. The older identity is associated with Aurangabad, now Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
