IIT Mandi's 538-acre Kamand Valley campus in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh — at an elevation of 1,070 metres in the Himalayas — is among India's most ecologically and geographically distinctive engineering campuses. Branch-specific facilities span Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Engineering Physics, Mathematics, Materials Science, Energy and Environmental Engineering, Centre for Disaster Mitigation and Management, Centre for Renewable and Sustainable Energy, Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems, IIT Mandi Catalyst (the institute's incubator) and many discipline-specific centres. The Central Library holds 2,50,000+ volumes with comprehensive IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, ACS, Nature, Science and Wiley subscriptions. Sports facilities are extensive given the campus footprint and Himalayan location — outdoor sports take advantage of mountain trekking and adventure sports alongside cricket and football grounds, basketball, volleyball, indoor sports complex and gymnasium. Transport: dedicated buses connect campus to Mandi town, Kullu, Manali and Chandigarh.
