IIIT-Bangalore occupies an 8.22-acre campus in Electronics City Phase 1 with about 6,21,000 sq ft of built-up space. The Infosys Library holds around 15,900 print volumes, 22,000 e-books and 5,400 online journals on the Koha ILMS, with subscriptions to IEEE Xplore, ACM, Springer, JSTOR, IOP and APS. Academic infrastructure includes 21 labs, 21 ICT-enabled classrooms and 5 seminar halls (150-200 seats each), supported by 1,620 academic-use computers and campus-wide Wi-Fi 5/6 backed by 500+700 Mbps leased lines. Sustainability features include a 500 KVA solar plant supplying ~40% of energy, an on-campus biogas plant, two sewage-treatment plants (190 KLD) with a zero-discharge policy, rainwater harvesting and 41% green cover.

Does IIITB participate in KEA UGCET or COMEDK UGET?
No. IIITB is a Section 3 deemed-to-be-University and conducts its own JEE-based counselling (Off-Campus + Live Online Rounds). KEA UGCET, COMEDK UGET, and KEA-PGCET do not apply. There is no KEA or COMEDK college code for IIITB.
What is Best JEE Rank (BJR) at IIITB?
BJR = the BETTER of (a) JEE Main CRL and (b) JEE Advanced CRL. Candidates do not need both — they slide along their best rank across all 5 programmes (B.Tech CSE / ECE / AI&DS and iMTech CSE / ECE) via preference-based allocation. Are there scholarships at IIITB?
Yes. The Utkarsha scholarship grants a 100% tuition waiver for top NTA CRL 1-999 (3 years for B.Tech, 4 years for iMTech). Dean's Merit List rewards the top 10% of UG students. The Prerna Scholarship is for all girl students in B.Tech / iMTech (36 beneficiaries in 2026-27). AICTE PG Scholarship is for GATE-qualified iMTech. Student Benevolent Fund offers need-based aid up to ₹11,00,000 annual family income.
Is hostel mandatory at IIITB?
Yes. B.Tech, iMTech and M.Tech students must reside in IIITB hostels. Three on-campus blocks operate: Bhaskara Men's Hostel (7 floors, 18,100 sqm), Visveswaraya Men's Hostel (G+4, 2,850 sqm), and Lilavati-1 Ladies Hostel (G+4, 5,700 sqm). 656 boys + 254 girls rooms total. Hostel ₹39,000 per semester + mess ₹28,800.
Who can apply for M.Tech at IIITB?
M.Tech (CSE, ECE, AI&DS) requires 65% in 4-year B.E./B.Tech. (CSE/Computer Engg/IT/ECE/EE etc. depending on stream) AND a valid GATE score for the matching paper (CS / EC or EE / DSAI). IIITB does not declare a fixed GATE cutoff in advance — offers are released in 2-3 lists based on applicant pool. M.Tech CSE 2025 closing GATE score was 635.
