IIIT Bangalore iMTech students from economically backward families can avail substantial financial aid through institutional need-based scholarships. Karnataka domicile students stack state schemes — Post-matric SC/ST, Vidyasiri (OBC, Category-I), EBC and Karnataka E-Pass — with reimbursements capped at KEA benchmarks. Defence wards qualify for PM Scholarship Scheme. AICTE Pragati for girl students and AICTE Saksham for differently-abled students are accepted on application. The institute's IIIT-B Foundation runs need-based scholarships from corporate donors that can cover up to 100% of tuition and living expenses for select students. M.Tech and PhD students typically receive AICTE/DST-funded teaching assistantships of ₹12,400-31,000 per month. M.S. (Research) students have access to research stipends. Education loan tie-ups with SBI, Canara Bank, HDFC Credila, Axis Bank, Avanse Financial and Auxilo are facilitated by the institute's financial-aid cell.
