Overview
About Hari Jyot College of Optometry
Hari Jyot College of Optometry is an allied health college in Navsari, Gujarat, established in 2005. Hari Jyot College of Optometry is privately managed and self-financing. It is affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat. Hari Jyot College of Optometry offers 2 programmes, 1 at undergraduate level and 1 at postgraduate level. They are Bachelor of Clinical Optometry (B Optom) and Master of Optometry (M. Optom). The stated sanctioned intake across these programmes totals 57 seats. Official website identifies the institution as Hari Jyot College of Optometry, Maliba Netra Sankul, Dudhia Talav, Navsari, managed by Rotary Eye Institute and affiliated with Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. The college website states a 50-bed Rotary Eye Institute; another Rotary page states 200 beds, so the college-specific figure is used and the conflict is retained as a caveat. The B.Optom page states 47 annual admissions and the M.Optom page 10 annual admissions, but those figures are outside this output schema. The site describes ISO 9001-2015 certification, an IACLE resource centre, and Optometry Council of India accredited-provider status; these are institutional claims, not treated as statutory programme approval. Currentness is based on the college website pages as presented; the target year is 2026-27. The college website states that it is self-financed, managed by Rotary Eye Institute, established in September 2005, and affiliated with Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. It offers Bachelor of Optometry and Master of Optometry. The college's Bachelor of Optometry page states that 47 students are admitted annually on merit and that admission is through the Central Medical Admission Committee, Gujarat; this is a college-published programme claim and is not recorded as a current 2026-27 seat-matrix fact. The college website and Rotary Eye Institute pages give inconsistent parent-facility bed counts (50 versus 200); no bed figure is recorded.
