Overview
About DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology
DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar is an engineering college in Jalandhar, Punjab, established in 2001. DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar is privately managed and self-financing. It is affiliated to I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar offers 17 programmes, 6 at undergraduate level and 4 at postgraduate level. These include B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, B.Tech Computer Science & Engineering (AI & ML), B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, B.Tech Electrical Engineering and B.Tech Civil Engineering, among others. DAVIET is a private, self-financing affiliated engineering institution of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, at Kabir Nagar, Jalandhar 144008; Permanent Id reported in the official 2022-23 AICTE EoA is 1-8277341. The official site and 2024-25 brochure identify Dr. Jagjit Malhotra as Principal; older SSR material names Manoj Kumar and should be treated as historical. The institution's 2024-25 brochure reports an AICTE MODROB grant of Rs. The 2022 SSR reports 12 patents and a nanotechnology research centre; it also reports that students are detained for failing mandatory attendance but does not state a percentage. No exact laboratory count, current student-faculty ratio, or NBA-accredited programme was established from the cited sources. Official pages identify the college as a unit of Dayanand Anglo Vedic College Trust & Management Society / DAV College Managing Committee. The December 2025 mandatory disclosure uses the historical university wording “Punjab Technical University”; current IKGPTU pages identify the affiliating body as I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University. The college website says established in 2001, while the 2022 AICTE letter prints year of establishment as 2000; this is an unresolved source discrepancy. The mandatory disclosure publishes 33 classrooms, 23 tutorial rooms, 78 laboratories, 3 drawing halls and one computer centre; the computer-terminal figure is recorded as 694 under other.
