NIT Silchar alumni include senior leaders at Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, McKinsey, Tata Group, Reliance, ONGC, Coal India, BHEL, NTPC and many Indian and global corporations. The institute heritage as Regional Engineering College Silchar (1967) gives it 55+ years of alumni — among the deepest engineering alumni networks in Northeast India. Many NIT-S alumni have served as senior IES, IRSME officers and in state and central government technical positions. The NIT Silchar Alumni Association runs strong chapters in Silchar, Guwahati, Kolkata, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, the Bay Area, Boston, Singapore and Dubai with annual reunions.
