HITS Chennai engineering alumni network spans 30,000+ graduates across all batches since the institute opened in 1985 (initially as Hindustan College of Engineering). Notable alumni include senior leaders at Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, Amazon, TCS Digital, Infosys, Wipro, Cyient, Hyundai, Renault Nissan, Ashok Leyland and Tata Technologies, with concentration in Chennai automotive and IT ecosystems. The HITS Alumni Association operates dedicated chapters in Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, NCR, Hyderabad, Singapore, Dubai, Bay Area, New York and London. Annual alumni meet "HITS Sangam" attracts 1,000+ alumni each January, with branch reunions through February. The Alumni Mentorship Program connects 500+ student-alumni pairs annually for placement preparation and career counselling. The Alumni Founders Network supports student-led startups via the HITS Innovation Cell with seed grants of INR 2-4 lakh per project. The HITS Endowment Fund, sustained by alumni contributions, funds 100+ scholarships annually.
