DTU runs separate hostels for boys and girls on the Bawana Road campus in Rohini, Delhi. First-year B.Tech students are typically allocated triple-sharing rooms with double from the second year by seniority. Annual hostel and mess fees for 2025-26 are heavily subsidised at ~₹50,000-80,000 inclusive of mess given DTU government-university status — among India lowest-cost top-tier engineering. Mess service includes vegetarian, non-vegetarian and Jain options with North Indian, Punjabi, South Indian and Continental rotations. Wi-Fi, hot-water geysers, gymnasium access, study lounges and CCTV are standard. Curfew is typically 9:30 PM with weekend leave requiring written parental confirmation. The Delhi winter is cold (5-12°C December-February) with smog conditions; warmer bedding and N95 masks recommended. Off-campus PG fallbacks at Rohini, Pitampura and Mukherjee Nagar are available at ₹6,500-12,000 per month with food.
