BITS Pilani admits B.E. students primarily through BITSAT (BITS Admission Test), the institute's own entrance exam — KCET, JEE Main and COMEDK are NOT used. BITSAT typically opens in March-April with multiple test windows and a separate iterations process. Typical 2024 BITSAT cutoffs for BITS Pilani campus under General Merit were: CSE 360+, ECE 340+, EEE 320+, MnC (Mathematics & Computing) 350+, Mechanical 290+, Chemical 280+, Civil 260+, Manufacturing 280+, Pharmacy 270+, Biological Sciences 260+, B. Pharm 240+ (out of 390 max). Direct Admission for top-1% Class XII Board scorers is also available for select students. Carry to admission: 10th and 12th marksheets, BITSAT score card, transfer/migration certificate, conduct certificate, Aadhaar, six passport photos. The first-year fee is around ₹4,50,000 — substantially higher than IITs and NITs given private deemed-university status. NRI and foreign-national admissions go through the dedicated international admissions portal.
