NIT Karnataka Surathkal runs comprehensive financial aid. SC/ST students receive full tuition waivers plus Central Government Post-matric Scholarship covering hostel and mess. Students from families with annual income below ₹1 lakh receive 100% tuition remission; those between ₹1-5 lakh receive 67% remission. Defence wards qualify for PM Scholarship Scheme. Merit-cum-Means scholarship covers ₹1,000 per month plus tuition for top 25% of low-income students. Karnataka domicile students additionally avail state schemes — Post-matric SC/ST, Vidyasiri (OBC, Category-I), EBC and Karnataka E-Pass — that supplement central government schemes. AICTE Pragati for girl students and AICTE Saksham for differently-abled students are accepted. KVPY and INSPIRE fellows continue receiving fellowships.
