NIT Karnataka Surathkal runs an extensive on-campus hostel system on its 295-acre coastal campus. 16+ hostels (named after rivers and other heritage themes) house 7,000+ students by gender and academic year. First-year B.Tech students typically get triple-occupancy rooms with double rooms from the second year and single rooms from the third year by seniority. Annual hostel and mess fees for 2025-26 are heavily subsidised — typically ₹35,000-55,000 per academic year inclusive of mess.
