NIT Karnataka Surathkal admits B.Tech students through JEE Main + JoSAA counselling. Typical 2024 closing ranks under General Merit Open category were: CSE 700-1300, EE 4500-7000, ECE 3500-5500, Information Technology 1500-2500, Mechanical 9000-13000, Chemical 13000-17000, Civil 14000-19000, Metallurgical 18000-23000, Mining 21000-26000, Industrial Engineering and Management 14000-19000. Karnataka state quota (50% under Other-State / Home-State scheme) typically has lower closing ranks. Round-by-round closing ranks in JoSAA's six rounds plus CSAB's two supplementary rounds determine final allocation. Carry to admission: 10th and 12th marksheets, JEE Main score card, JoSAA seat allotment letter, transfer/migration certificate, conduct certificate, Aadhaar, six passport photos and 371-J domicile certificate for Hyderabad-Karnataka quota students. The first-year fee is around ₹1,50,000 with full waivers for SC/ST/PwD. NRI and foreign-national admissions go through DASA.
