NIT Sikkim participates in the central government Merit-cum-Means scholarship covering 100% tuition for SC/ST and 67% for OBC-NCL students with family income below INR 5 lakh. The Director Merit Scholarship awards INR 25,000 per semester to top 5% of each batch by CGPA. The Inspire Scholarship from DST covers INR 80,000 per year for students who scored top 1% in JEE Main and pursue research. KVPY-qualifying students get INR 7,000-10,000 monthly stipend if continuing into research projects. Industry-sponsored scholarships include Microsoft Aspire Award (INR 50,000), Adobe-NIT Excellence Fellowship (INR 1.5 lakh annual), and the Tata Scholarship for Higher Education (INR 1 lakh annual for SC/ST). Female BTech students with family income under INR 8 lakh are eligible for the AICTE Pragati Scholarship at INR 50,000/year. International students from SAARC nations receive 50% tuition concession through the ICCR scheme. PhD scholars receive INR 31,000-35,000 monthly fellowship + HRA from MHRD funding. Sikkim domicile students get additional state government support through the SC/ST/OBC scholarship portal.
