Jamia Millia Islamia runs separate hostels for boys and girls on the central Delhi campus. First-year B.Tech students are typically allocated triple-sharing rooms with double and limited single occupancy by seniority. Annual hostel and mess fees for 2025-26 are heavily subsidised given Jamia's central-university status — typically ₹35,000-55,000 per academic year inclusive of mess. Mess service includes vegetarian and halal-certified non-vegetarian options across hostels with student-elected mess secretaries; menus combine North Indian, Mughlai, South Indian and limited Continental rotations. Wi-Fi, hot-water geysers, gymnasium access, study lounges and CCTV-monitored entries are standard. The Delhi winter is cold (5-12°C December-February) with smog conditions; warmer bedding and N95 masks are recommended. The Okhla-Jamia location is well-connected to the Delhi metro Yellow and Magenta lines.
