Jamia Millia Islamia alumni include some of India's most senior engineers, scientists, civil servants, journalists, founders and policy figures across multiple disciplines (engineering, journalism, fine arts, social work). Engineering alumni hold senior leadership at Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro and many Indian and global corporations. Several JMI alumni have served as senior IAS, IES, IPS officers and in state and central government technical positions. The institute's heritage as one of India's foundational central universities (founded 1920 as a response to the British Aligarh Muslim University) gives it a deep alumni network. The JMI Alumni Association runs strong chapters in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, the Bay Area, Boston, London, Dubai, Doha and the Gulf region (uniquely strong given the institute's broader minority-community international networks).
