Hostel at JU 2026 — CollegeAndFees

Jadavpur University runs hostels for boys and girls on the Jadavpur main campus and the Salt Lake campus. Annual hostel and mess fees for 2025-26 are heavily subsidised given JU's government-institute status — typically ₹15,000-30,000 per academic year inclusive of mess. Mess service includes vegetarian and non-vegetarian options with predominant Bengali cuisine alongside North Indian and South Indian rotations. Wi-Fi, hot-water geysers, gymnasium access, study lounges and CCTV-monitored entries are standard. The Jadavpur campus is centrally located in south Kolkata creating a vibrant urban academic environment. Off-campus PG fallbacks at Jadavpur, Tollygunge, Garia, Patuli and Salt Lake are widely available at ₹6,000-12,000 per month with food. The Salt Lake campus location in north Kolkata is closer to Kolkata's IT hub at Sector 5 (Salt Lake Sector V).
