Jadavpur University alumni include some of India's most senior engineers, scientists, civil servants and policy figures. Notable alumni include Sundar Pichai's mentor and senior Google leadership, Subir Chowdhury (six-sigma quality consultant and author), Rajat Sharma (India TV founder — JU journalism but JU produces engineering leaders too), Sushovan Banerjee (former IIT Delhi director), and many founders of Indian and global startups across SaaS, fintech, deep-tech and consumer-tech. The institute's heritage as Bengal Technical Institute (1906) and Jadavpur College of Engineering and Technology (1955) gives it 100+ years of alumni — the deepest engineering alumni network in Eastern India.
