Research at IIT Ropar 2026

IIT Ropar consistently ranks among the top 35 in NIRF Engineering. Research spans every major engineering and applied science discipline with strengths in Sustainable Engineering, Renewable Energy, Cyber Security, AI-ML and Materials Science. The institute hosts the Centre for Renewable Energy, Centre for Cyber Security, Centre for Sustainable Engineering, Innovation Centre and many discipline-specific centres. The institute files 30+ patents annually with publications in Nature, IEEE Transactions, ACM, Springer, Elsevier and ACS venues. Major funding from DST, AICTE, MeitY, DBT, ISRO, DRDO, Punjab State Council and several international agencies. Industry partnerships span Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Robert Bosch, Texas Instruments, Tata Group, Reliance, Cisco and many deep-tech startups.
