IIT (BHU) Varanasi admits B.Tech students through JEE Advanced + JoSAA counselling. Typical 2024 closing ranks under General Merit Open category were: CSE 1500-2500, EE 4000-5500, ECE 4500-6500, Mechanical 6000-9000, Chemical 8000-11000, Civil 10000-14000, Mining 11000-15000, Metallurgical 12000-16000, Ceramic 14000-19000, Pharmaceutical 9000-13000, Architecture 5500-7500. Round-by-round closing ranks in JoSAA's six rounds plus CSAB's two supplementary rounds determine final allocation. Carry to admission: 10th and 12th marksheets, JEE Advanced score card, JoSAA seat allotment letter, transfer/migration certificate, conduct certificate, Aadhaar, six passport photos and domicile certificate for state-level reservations. The first-year fee is around ₹2,50,000 with full waivers for SC/ST/PwD and substantial concessions for low-income families. NRI and foreign-national admissions go through DASA with separate seat counts and fee structure. The four-year B.Tech and five-year Dual Degree programmes are available across departments.
