COEP Pune consistently ranks among the top 90 in NIRF Engineering. Research spans every major engineering and applied science discipline with strengths in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering (Pune automotive cluster collaboration), Electrical Engineering and AI-ML. The institute hosts research centres for Materials Engineering, Centre for Industrial Automation, Innovation Centre and many discipline-specific centres. The institute files 50+ patents annually with publications in IEEE Transactions, ACM, Springer, Elsevier and ACS venues. Major funding from DST, AICTE, MeitY, DBT, ISRO, DRDO, Tata Motors (extensive Pune industrial collaboration), Bharat Forge, Cummins, KPIT, Maharashtra State Council and several international agencies.
