Research at BMSCE spans VLSI and microelectronics, Power Electronics and Renewable Energy, AI-ML, Data Science, Cyber Security, Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial IoT and Aerospace Structures. The institute hosts research centres aligned with its A++ NAAC status — including labs supported by AICTE RPS, DST, MeitY, DRDO and ISRO. Faculty publish in IEEE Transactions, Springer, Elsevier and Scopus-indexed journals with steady year-on-year output. Patents include themes around energy-efficient VLSI, smart grids, agritech sensors and intelligent transportation. Industry partnerships are anchored by Texas Instruments, Cisco, Bosch, Wipro, Siemens, IBM, Microsoft, Ansys and MathWorks. International MoUs with universities in the US, the UK, Germany and Singapore support student exchange and joint research. BMSCE's BMS-CIIRC (Centre for Innovation, Incubation, Research and Consultancy) coordinates entrepreneurship and applied research across the institute and its sister institutions in the BMS Trust.
