Research at SSN spans AI-ML and Data Science, VLSI and Embedded Systems, Cyber Security, Robotics, Renewable Energy, Mechatronics, Industrial IoT, Biotechnology and Civil Infrastructure. The institute hosts research centres for AI, Cyber Security, Sustainable Engineering and Renewable Energy. Funded projects come from DST, AICTE RPS, MeitY, DRDO, ISRO RESPOND and the Tamil Nadu State Council. Faculty publish in IEEE, Springer, Elsevier and Scopus-indexed journals with steady output. Recent patents include themes around energy-efficient VLSI, edge AI for healthcare, agritech sensors and intelligent transportation.
