Research at RV University 2026

RV University Bangalore drives focused research across AI/ML, IoT, smart cities, sustainable energy, biotechnology, cyber security, automotive engineering and structural engineering. The institute houses the Centre for Excellence in AI/ML, the Centre for Cyber Security and Forensics, the IoT and Embedded Systems Lab, the Centre for Sustainable Mobility (in collaboration with KPIT and Bosch) and the Centre for Bio-informatics and Computational Biology. Faculty publish 100-130 SCI/Scopus papers annually with research grants from DST, AICTE, MEITY, DRDO, BARC, ISRO, KSCST and various private industry collaborations totaling INR 8-12 crore in any given fiscal year. The institute has filed 30+ patents in AI/ML, biomedical devices, IoT systems, automotive systems and cyber security, with 4 commercialised. Active industry-academia partnerships include Microsoft Research India, IBM, KPIT, Bosch, Cognizant, Tata Consultancy Services, Toyota Kirloskar, ISRO, DRDO and CSIR-NAL. The university operates 4 international research collaborations (NTU Singapore, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IISc Bangalore).
