RUAS conducts research across Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering, AI-ML and Data Science, VLSI, Cyber Security, Industrial IoT, Robotics, Mechatronics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Renewable Energy and Materials Engineering. The university operates dedicated research centres for Automotive Research, Aeronautical Research, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Sustainable Engineering. Funded projects come from DST, AICTE RPS, MeitY, DRDO, ISRO, the Department of Pharmaceuticals and the Karnataka State Council. Faculty publish in Elsevier, Springer, IEEE, ACS and Scopus-indexed journals with steady year-on-year output. Patents include themes around fuel-cell systems, automotive electronics, drug-delivery systems and intelligent transportation. Industry partnerships include Bosch, Wipro, Cisco, Texas Instruments, IBM, Tata Motors, Mahindra, Tata Group industries and the Ramaiah Group industrial portfolio. International MoUs span universities in Germany, the UK, Australia and Singapore for student exchange and joint research.
