PES University, established in 1972, is a premier Deemed-to-be University located at 100 Feet Ring Road, Banashankari III Stage, Bangalore 560085. As a Deemed University, PES sets its own curriculum, conducts its own entrance test (PESSAT), and awards its own degree. PES holds NAAC 'A' grade accreditation. PES University offers B.Tech programmes across 6 branches at its Ring Road Campus: Computer Science & Engineering (720 total seats), CSE with AI & ML specialisation (480 seats), Electronics & Communication Engineering (360 seats), Biotechnology (60 seats), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (60 seats), and Mechanical Engineering (60 seats). Total intake: 1,740 seats. Unlike regular private engineering colleges, PES University follows University admission rules: 40% of seats (288 in CSE) are allocated to KCET government quota, while 60% (432 in CSE) are filled by the university through PESSAT, JEE Main scores, and management quota. PES does not participate in COMEDK. Additional supernumerary seats: 36 SNQ and 108 foreign seats in CSE. Admission to PES University — How it Works

PES University is a Deemed-to-be University. Unlike VTU-affiliated private colleges, it follows University admission rules — 40% of seats go to KCET and 60% are filled by the university. PES does not participate in COMEDK. KCET Quota (40% of seats — 288 seats in CSE): Karnataka students who appear in KCET are eligible. 40% of all PES University seats are allocated to KCET government quota — this is unique among Deemed Universities. Allotment is managed by KEA (kea.kar.nic.in). PESSAT — PES Scholastic Aptitude Test: PES University conducts PESSAT, its own online entrance test covering Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Open to students from all states. Registration typically opens January–February at pes.edu. PESSAT merit rank determines seat allotment in the university-controlled 60% quota. JEE Main Scores: Students who have appeared in JEE Main can apply using their percentile score for the university-controlled quota. Strong JEE Main scores improve chances of getting CSE or ECE. Management Quota / Direct Admission: PES University has a large college-controlled intake — 432 seats in CSE are filled via PESSAT merit, JEE Main, and direct management quota combined. SNQ — Supernumerary Quota (36 additional seats in CSE): Over and above the 720-seat intake, reserved for economically weaker Karnataka students.
