Research at NIE Mysore spans AI-ML and Data Science, VLSI and Embedded Systems, Cyber Security, Power Electronics, Robotics, Industrial IoT, Mechatronics, Polymer Engineering, Renewable Energy and Civil Infrastructure. The institute hosts research centres aligned with its 75+ year heritage. Funded projects come from DST, AICTE RPS, MeitY, DRDO and the Karnataka State Science and Technology Council. Faculty publish in IEEE, Springer, Elsevier and Scopus-indexed journals. Recent patents include themes around energy-efficient VLSI, edge AI for healthcare, polymer applications and intelligent transportation.
