Scholarships at IIT Kharagpur 2026

IIT Kharagpur runs comprehensive financial aid. SC/ST students receive full tuition waivers plus Central Government Post-matric Scholarship. Students from families with annual income below ₹1 lakh receive 100% tuition remission; those between ₹1-5 lakh receive 67% remission. Defence wards qualify for PM Scholarship Scheme. Merit-cum-Means scholarship covers ₹1,000 per month plus tuition for top 25% of low-income students. AICTE Pragati for girl students and AICTE Saksham for differently-abled students are accepted. KVPY and INSPIRE fellows continue receiving fellowships. The IIT Kharagpur Foundation runs additional alumni-funded scholarships including the Sham Lal Memorial, Manindra Banerjee, BC Mehta and many endowed scholarships. International undergraduate students from select developing nations qualify for ICCR scholarships. Education loans through SBI, Canara Bank, IDBI, HDFC Credila, Axis Bank, Avanse Financial and Auxilo are facilitated by the financial-aid office.
