IIT Bhilai runs an extensive on-campus hostel system on its 470-acre Kutelabhata campus. First-year B.Tech students typically get double-occupancy rooms with single rooms from the second year by seniority. Annual hostel and mess fees for 2025-26 are heavily subsidised — typically ₹40,000-65,000 per academic year inclusive of mess. Mess service includes vegetarian, non-vegetarian and Jain options across multiple mess centres with student-elected mess secretaries; menus combine North Indian, Chhattisgarhi cuisine, South Indian and limited Continental rotations. Wi-Fi, hot-water geysers, gymnasium access, study lounges and CCTV are standard.
