IIIT Delhi is exceptionally strong in CSE research given its CSE-focused mandate. Research spans AI-ML and Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Cyber Security, Robotics, Distributed Systems, Theoretical Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cognitive Science, VLSI Design, Computer Networks and Computational Biology. The institute hosts the Centre for Visual Information Technology, Centre for Communication and Computing, Centre for Cyber Security, Centre for Computational Biology, Robotics Research Centre and many discipline-specific centres. The institute files 80+ patents annually with publications in IEEE, ACM, Springer, Elsevier, Nature/Science venues and top-tier CSE conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, USENIX Security). Major funding from DST, AICTE, MeitY, DBT, DRDO, NTRO and several international agencies. Industry partnerships span Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Robert Bosch, Texas Instruments, NVIDIA, Cisco and many deep-tech startups.
