FAQ
Dhanwantari College of Engineering FAQs
Is Dhanwantari College of Engineering the same as Sri Dhanwantari Ayurvedic Medical College or Dhanwantari Nursing?
No. Dhanwantari College of Engineering (also indexed as Dhanwantari Institute of Technology / DIT) is a launch-year B.E. engineering college under the M.A.J Foundation / Dhanwantari Group of Institutions (DGI) at Chikkabanavara, Bengaluru-560090. It is a distinct institution from Sri Dhanwantari Ayurvedic Medical College (separate Ayurveda BAMS body), Dhanwantari College of Nursing (sister DGI institution, est. 2003), Dhanwantari College of Education / B.Ed. (sister DGI institution, est. 2008), Dhanwantari Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital DAMS (sister DGI institution, est. 2021, MBA/MCA routed separately through Bangalore University) and Dhanwantari College of Pharmacy (sister DGI institution, est. 2023). Only the engineering arm is being treated in this guide.
When was Dhanwantari College of Engineering / DIT established?
DIT was established as the engineering arm of the Dhanwantari Group of Institutions with first-intake plans for academic year 2026-27. The larger trust — M.A.J Foundation — has been operating DGI institutions in Chikkabanavara Bengaluru since 2003 (Nursing), followed by B.Ed. in 2008, PU in 2018, DAMS in 2021 and Pharmacy in 2023; DIT is the seventh vertical under the same trust.
Is DIT approved by AICTE and affiliated to VTU?
DIT is expected to launch with an AICTE Letter of Approval and Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) affiliation in time for the 2026-27 counselling rounds. Because DIT is a first-intake institute, aspirants must independently sight the published AICTE EoA PDF on akte.aicte-india.org and the VTU Affiliation Order before seat locking — verification links were not yet available on the DGI website at the time of this guide's drafting.
What is DIT's KCET code and COMEDK code?
The KEA KCET participating-colleges code and the COMEDK UGET college code for Dhanwantari College of Engineering / DIT had not been published in the KEA 2026 or COMEDK 2025 participating-colleges PDFs at drafting. Aspirants must look up both codes directly from the KEA 2026 participating-colleges PDF at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in and the COMEDK 2026 seat-availability PDF at comedk.org once those PDFs are released ahead of counselling.
Which B.E. branches does DIT offer?
The branch-wise sanctioned intake for DIT's launch year has not been published at drafting. Based on DGI's public expansion statements, DIT expects to offer Computer Science & Engineering, CSE with AI & ML specialisation, Information Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at minimum — aspirants must confirm the final branch list and per-branch seat count against the AICTE Mandatory Disclosure PDF once released.
Does DIT have NAAC accreditation or an NIRF rank?
No. DIT is a first-intake institute with plans for B.E. admissions AY 2026-27 and is therefore structurally ineligible for NAAC, NBA or NIRF evaluation. NAAC first-cycle eligibility typically requires six semesters of operation; NBA programme accreditation requires two graduating batches; NIRF Engineering needs two-to-three graduating batches. DIT is expected to become eligible for first-cycle evaluations after 2030.
Where is the DIT campus located?
DIT is located at the Dhanwantari Group of Institutions master campus at Chikkabanavara, Bengaluru-560090, Karnataka, on the Hesarghatta Main Road corridor in the north-west Bengaluru belt close to Chikkabanavara railway station. The campus is shared with DGI sister institutions — Nursing, B.Ed., PU, DAMS and Pharmacy.
What is the B.E. fee at DIT?
Branch-wise B.E. tuition fees for DIT have not been published at the time of this guide's drafting. KEA-quota (KFRC 2026-27) and COMEDK-quota branch-wise tuition will appear on the KEA Fee Regulatory Committee circular and the COMEDK 2026 seat-availability/fee PDF respectively; management-quota and NRI-quota fees must be negotiated directly with the DIT admissions office.
