Research at VNR VJIET 2026

Research at IIPE Visakhapatnam is uniquely focused on petroleum, energy and chemical engineering. The institute hosts the Centre for Petroleum Engineering Studies, Centre for Energy Engineering, dedicated reservoir simulation and drilling technology research facilities. Funded projects come from DST, AICTE, MeitY, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (extensive funding), ONGC, Reliance, Cairn Energy and several international oil-and-gas companies. Faculty publish in petroleum-specific journals (SPE Journal, Petroleum Science) alongside IEEE, Springer and Elsevier venues. Industry partnerships span ONGC, Reliance, Cairn Energy, Schlumberger, Halliburton, BP, Shell, ExxonMobil and major global oil-and-gas startups. International collaborations span US (Texas A&M, Stanford), UK and Norway petroleum institutes.
