Research at RNSIT covers AI-ML and Data Science, VLSI and Embedded Systems, Cyber Security, Aerospace, Robotics, Power Electronics, Renewable Energy, Industrial IoT, Mechatronics and Civil Infrastructure. Funded projects come from DST, AICTE RPS, MeitY, DRDO, ISRO RESPOND and the Karnataka State Science and Technology Council. Faculty publish in IEEE, Springer, Elsevier and Scopus-indexed journals with steady year-on-year output. Recent patents include themes around UAV systems, energy-efficient VLSI, edge AI for healthcare, agritech sensors and intelligent transportation. Industry-academia partnerships include Cisco (Networking Academy), IBM, Microsoft, AWS, Bosch, Wipro and Robert Bosch Engineering. International MoUs with universities in Asia and Europe support student exchange and joint research projects. The RNSIT Research and Consultancy Centre coordinates Ph.D. work and faculty-led applied projects across all engineering disciplines.
