Research at Presidency University spans AI-ML and Data Science, VLSI and Embedded Systems, Cyber Security, Petroleum and Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy, Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial IoT and Civil Infrastructure. The university hosts research centres for Cyber Security, Petroleum and Energy, AI-ML and Smart Cities. Funded projects come from DST, AICTE RPS, MeitY, DRDO, ONGC, GAIL and the Karnataka State Science and Technology Council. Faculty publish in IEEE, Springer, Elsevier and Scopus-indexed journals with steady year-on-year output. Recent patents include themes around energy-efficient drilling and recovery, edge AI for healthcare, agritech sensors and intelligent transportation. Industry-academia partnerships include Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, AWS, Schlumberger, ONGC, GAIL, Bosch and Robert Bosch Engineering.
