NIT Durgapur alumni include senior leaders at Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, McKinsey, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Coal India, Hindalco and many Indian and global corporations. The institute heritage as Regional Engineering College Durgapur (1960) gives it 65+ years of alumni — among the deepest engineering alumni networks in Eastern India. Many NIT-D alumni have served as senior IES, IRSME officers and in state and central government technical positions. The NIT Durgapur Alumni Association runs strong chapters in Durgapur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, the Bay Area, Boston, Singapore and Dubai with annual reunions and the NIT-D Alumni Trust supporting scholarships and research initiatives.
