Research at KIIT spans AI-ML and Data Science, VLSI and Embedded Systems, Cyber Security, Robotics, Renewable Energy, Mechatronics, Industrial IoT, Biotechnology and Civil Infrastructure. The university hosts the KIIT-KISS Research Centre, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cell, Centre for Cyber Security and many discipline-specific centres. The institute files 50+ patents annually with publications in IEEE, Springer, Elsevier and Scopus-indexed journals. Major funding from DST, AICTE, MeitY, DBT, DRDO, Odisha State Council and several international agencies. Industry partnerships span Microsoft, Cisco, IBM, Tata Group, Reliance and many deep-tech startups. International collaborations span universities in the US, UK, Germany, Australia, Singapore and several Asian and Middle Eastern countries.
