Scholarships at IIT Roorkee 2026

IIT Roorkee runs comprehensive financial aid. SC/ST students receive full tuition waivers plus Central Government Post-matric Scholarship covering hostel and mess. Students from families with annual income below ₹1 lakh receive 100% tuition remission; those between ₹1-5 lakh receive 67% remission. Defence wards qualify for PM Scholarship Scheme. Merit-cum-Means scholarship covers ₹1,000 per month plus tuition for top 25% of low-income students. AICTE Pragati for girl students and AICTE Saksham for differently-abled students are accepted. KVPY and INSPIRE fellows continue receiving fellowships. IIT Roorkee's Sir Thomason memorial scholarship and several alumni-endowed scholarships cover additional need-based concessions — IITR's 175+ year heritage gives it a deep alumni-funded scholarship pool.
