IIT Kanpur's 1,055-acre Kalyanpur campus in west Kanpur is among India's largest academic campuses. Branch-specific facilities span Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Chemical, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Materials Science, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Cognitive Sciences, the Centre for Mechatronics, Centre for Lasers and Photonics, Centre for Environmental Science and Engineering, Centre for Energy Regulation, Bharti School of Bioengineering and Telemedicine, the IITK Innovation and Incubation Centre and the Samtel Centre for Display Technologies. The Central Library holds 4,80,000+ volumes with comprehensive IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, ACS, Nature, Science and Wiley subscriptions. Sports facilities are extensive — cricket and football grounds, swimming pool, athletics track, indoor sports complex, gymnasium and the IITK flying club (one of India's few campuses with a flying programme). Transport: dedicated campus buses connect to Kalyanpur, Kanpur Central railway station and the new Kanpur airport.
