IIT Delhi's 320-acre Hauz Khas campus in central-south Delhi is one of India's premier academic environments. Branch-specific facilities include the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Chemical, Textile and Fibre Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology, Centre for Atmospheric Sciences, Centre for Applied Research in Electronics, Centre for Energy Studies, Centre for Polymer Science and Engineering, Centre for Bharti School of Telecommunication Technology, Centre for Industrial Tribology, Bharti School of Telecommunication Technology and Management, and the new Sonepat extension campus. The Central Library holds 4,50,000+ volumes with comprehensive IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, ACS, Nature, Science and Wiley subscriptions. Sports facilities include cricket and football grounds, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, athletics track, swimming pool, indoor sports complex, gymnasium and Open Air Theatre. Transport: dedicated buses connect campus to Hauz Khas metro station; the Hauz Khas station also serves the Yellow Line metro for connectivity to all of Delhi.
