Research at KLSGIT spans AI-ML and Data Science, VLSI and Embedded Systems, Cyber Security, Power Electronics, Robotics, Industrial IoT, Mechatronics, Renewable Energy and Civil Infrastructure. Funded projects come from DST, AICTE RPS, MeitY, DRDO and the Karnataka State Science and Technology Council. Faculty publish in IEEE, Springer, Elsevier and Scopus-indexed journals. Recent patents include themes around energy-efficient VLSI, edge AI for healthcare (cross-collaboration with KLES Medical), agritech sensors and intelligent transportation. Industry-academia partnerships include Cisco (Networking Academy), IBM, Microsoft, AWS, Bosch and Robert Bosch Engineering. The KLES broader research environment supports cross-institute collaboration with KLES Medical, Dental and Pharmacy. International MoUs with select universities in Asia and Europe.
