Research at DSU spans AI-ML and Data Science, VLSI and Embedded Systems, Cyber Security, Aerospace, Robotics, Power Electronics, Renewable Energy, Industrial IoT, Mechatronics, Biotechnology and Civil Infrastructure. The university hosts dedicated research centres for AI, Cyber Security, Aerospace, Sustainable Engineering and Smart Cities. Funded projects come from DST, AICTE RPS, MeitY, DRDO, ISRO RESPOND, DBT and the Karnataka State Council.
