Research at Christ University 2026

Christ University Faculty of Engineering runs research across AI-ML and Data Science, Cyber Security, Renewable Energy, Smart Cities, Mechatronics, IoT, Computational Biology and Mathematical Modelling. Funding comes from DST, AICTE RPS, MeitY, ICSSR (for cross-disciplinary work with the School of Social Sciences) and the Karnataka State Council. Faculty publish in Elsevier, Springer, IEEE and Scopus-indexed journals; the institute has filed multiple patents in IoT-based agritech, intelligent transportation, edge AI for healthcare and renewable energy management. The university has signed MoUs with Asian and European universities for joint research, and engineering faculty regularly participate in cross-school projects with the School of Business and School of Sciences — a structurally distinctive feature versus single-discipline VTU peers. Christ also operates a Centre for Research and Doctoral Studies that funds and facilitates Ph.D. work for faculty and select student groups.
