Anna University runs separate hostels for boys and girls across its CEG, ACT, MIT and SAP campuses in Chennai. First-year B.E. students are typically allocated triple-sharing rooms with double and limited single occupancy by seniority. Annual hostel and mess fees for 2025-26 are heavily subsidised given Anna's government-university status — typically ₹35,000-55,000 per academic year inclusive of mess. Mess service includes vegetarian, non-vegetarian and Jain options across hostels with student-elected mess secretaries; menus include South Indian, North Indian, Continental and limited Tamil cuisine specials. Wi-Fi, hot-water geysers, gymnasium access, study lounges, common rooms with TV, washing machines and CCTV-monitored entries are standard. The Guindy and Chrompet locations are well-connected to Chennai's broader transport network. Bring own bedding, padlock, bucket and toiletries. The campus has comprehensive dining including the Convention Centre, Cafeteria and several student-run cafés and tea-snack outlets.
